This is your average lower middle class fifty year old home that you might see in
any town you drive through in America! If you look at this house you might not see
anything really wonderful about this structure. An ordinary “no place” you might think,
but houses have stories and memories no matter how big or small.

This is my brother’s house and he has lived here for more than 30 years. As I think about
this place and all the living that has occurred here I can think of much love, joy, sorrow,
work, rest, gatherings of friends and family (fellowship), parties, food being prepared
and consumed, the tool shed that has been used to build a business, and a well-planned
garden that has been incredibly bountiful year after year. I think of the many people and
dogs that have lived there in the past.

The tree that is casting the shadow on the yard and on the house is one I planted more
than 30 years ago. Of course, it was small when I planted it.
